If you DIY your muesli bar you can be creative with flavor and texture. Whether crunchy like the variant with orange-pumpkin seed, hazelnut-cranberry or apricot-almond, exotic tropical muesli bars with chocolate or classic combinations of chocolates and bananas… the preparation brings fun to your snack and the result is delicious.
What to put in?
Muesli bars are mostly cereal products like oat, spelled, and millet flakes. You can also add coconut flakes for a bis of tasty character. Additionally all kinds of nuts and kernels are will take your bar to the next level. Also dried fruits such as apricots or raisins put healthiness first while supplying less and more natural sugar. Depending on the season you could use fresh fruit like cherries or plums in your mixture, too! Honey, maple syrup or brown sugar act as additional sweeteners if preferred. And egg whites makes the ingredients bind together nicely. Which leaves room for some melted chocolate if desired!
If you want to omit animal products, then we recommend to use vegan margarine over butter. Egg whites can be replaced by almond butter or coconut cream.
